Hotel Royal Savoy Lausanne

The Royal Savoy Hotel & Spa is part of the prestigious The Bürgenstock Collection and shines with exclusive service at the highest level. The hotel, originally built in 1909 and renovated from the ground up, is an integral part of Lausanne's hotel history. After a 5-year refurbishment programme and a total investment of CHF 100 million, the Royal Savoy Hôtel & Spa Lausanne opened its doors again in November 2015. The hotel has 196 rooms and suites on offer, with 101 in the historic building, the Savoy Wing and 95 in the Park Wing, which harmoniously and seamlessly connects to the elegant originally built building. A unique restaurant with panoramic terrace, a lobby as well as cigar lounge and an excellent wellness temple compete this exceptional hotel. Much like the early Swiss palaces, its magnificent architecture and reputable hospitality tradition attracted the aristocracy and renowned personalities. For a number of years, the Royal Family of Spain thus lived in exile at the Savoy, while the King of Thailand was also a regular guest. Built in the Art Nouveau style, the hotel and its layout were a magnificent display of the finest materials, becoming an essential part of Lausanne’s historical heritage. Since its reopening, the Royal Savoy Hôtel & Spa Lausanne has revived its former glory and opened a new chapter in Lausanne’s history of hospitality.

Architecture & Location

The high recognition value of the Royal Savoy Hotel & Spa Lausanne is evident in its architecture, which is unparalleled in Lausanne. It is Art Nouveau in style, but also has Neo-Baroque influences, which is particularly noticeable in the turrets. A rare architectural gem, the overall building and entrance portal are honored as historic landmarks.

The Royal Savoy Hotel & Spa is practically between the main train station and Lake Geneva in the hip Ouchy district. The hotel is centrally located in the heart of French-speaking Switzerland and easily accessible by train, plane or car. Paris and Milan are within easy reach in 3.5 hours.

Rooms & Suites

The 196 rooms and suites are divided between the Savoy wing (101) and Park wing (95) and range in size from 28 sqm to up to 345 sqm. They offer the latest standards and comfort. All rooms feature contemporary design and beautifully gleaming parquet flooring. The marble-tiled bathrooms with rain shower and Japanese bathtub exude elegant aesthetics. Additionally, the suites all offer a kitchen and guest toilet to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

The Savoy wing is located in an elegant Art Nouveau style dating back to 1909, which features an elegant contemporary chic interior design. In close collaboration with Patrimoine Suisse (Swiss Heritage Protection), the wing was completely restored and renewed. Among the most important new features are the giant light sculpture of stained glass in the lobby lounge, and the "Corridor of the Senses" with exquisite wines and cheeses to whet the appetites of guests at the Brasserie du Royal.

The rooms of the Savoy wing follow a functional, elegant principle. All rooms and suites have lake or city views and have been renovated in keeping with the historic architectural heritage. A unique concept of offerings, including access to the lavish Spa du Royal and a 24-hour fitness center.

The Park Wing shows a much more modern side with contemporary design and noble materials. All 95 rooms have a private balcony as well as access to the 24-hour fitness center.
