The Singular Patagonia

At the end of the 19th century, Europeans discovered Patagonia's Cape of Last Hope. They came to build a huge processing industry here starting with sheep farming. One of those imposing building complexes has survived the times to this day as a unique hotel. The Singula Patagonia was built in the walls of the former industrial complex of "Bories Cold-Storage Plant". The hotel is not only for design and architecture fans a highlight but also for nature lovers and peace seekers who enjoy the extravagant. The Singular Patagonia creates a stylish combination of the charm of old industrial refrigerated warehouses with state-of-the-art design. From all rooms and suites, guests of The Singular Patagonia enjoy panoramic windows overlooking the deep blue waters of the Puerto Nales fjord and the snow-capped mountains of Torres del Paine National Park.

The hotel is located in the converted “Frigorifico Puerto Bories”, a post-Victorian cold-storage plant built in 1915. This industrial complex was originally built to process and export frozen meat to Europe. The sheep came from all over Patagonia. The factory was in operation for 70 years, generating work and contributing to the development of the region. After a long period of neglect, the building was restored to its former industrial grandeur and as a result of the meticulous conservation, was declared a National Monument in 1996.
