The legendary hotel hall "Le Hall" shines after elaborate redesign and restoration in a new "retro" shine. The design concept pays homage to the truly legendary hotel lobby and the various stylistic epochs it has lived through. The gastronomy of the Baur au Lac is one of the most exclusive in the city. Excellent cuisine awaits guests in the Michelin-starred Pavillon restaurant, which has once again been rated 18 points by GaultMillau and Chef Laurent Eperon was named "Rising Star of the Year". In October 2018, the Baur au Lac was also voted the best hotel in Switzerland and Europe by the Readers' Choice Award 2018 of the US travel magazine Condé Nast Traveler.


The Baur au Lac is located in the heart of Zurich in it’s own park by the lake, a few minutes’ walk from the Paradeplatz financial district and the Bahnhofstrasse, Zurich’s celebrated shopping high street.

Rooms & Suites

The hotel offers 119 rooms ranging from 25 sqm to 100 sqm and including 27 junior suites and 18 suites. Great emphasis was laid on spaciousness, top-quality materials and superior craftsman-ship. The rooms are individually decorated in different styles such as Art Deco, French Louis XVI, and English Regency, combined with contemporary features and the most exclusive French, Italian and English fabrics. All furniture and lighting features are custom-made in France, Belgium, England and Germany. Each item was hand-selected with an unfailing sense of style. While offering the ultimate in comfort, luxury and privacy, the rooms and suites have been equipped with every, yet hardly noticeable technical refinement. The large, luxuriously appointed marble bathrooms with separate shower and toilet, heated floor and daylight match up to the highest demands of comfort, design and equipment.

A sparkling blend of chic restaurant and bar, the Rive Gauche gives straight onto the city center – the ideal place for hotel guests to mingle with Zurich's youthful, cosmopolitan society. A modern Mediterranean grill whose purist lines are shot through with palpable sensuality.


Head Chef Laurent Eperon creates fresh, dynamic and contemporary cuisine. His style is a 21st century interpretation of classic haute cuisine. The Pavillon and Laurent Eperon have been awarded one Michelin-Star and 17 GaultMillau-points.

Bar & Restaurant Terrasse

The Rive Gauche Terrasse is the most exclusive place in Zurich to while away those hot summer days and lazy, hazy evenings. Refreshing cocktails and ice-cold Champagne are served as aperitifs in the decidedly chic lounges. Small snacks and light meals are served till midnight by a friendly, outgoing team.
